An intense yearning for light – to find it, to create it – led me to Thailand in 2018. I had experienced deep personal loss and needed a way to shine light in honor of those no longer with me, to my angels above. I was on a journey to replace darkness with the healing and serenity of light. And there in Thailand, I began my training in the ancient art of Chandlers, of candle-making, learning to create different types of candles and how to paint with wax. You’ll see in my art that no two are ever alike, as a collector you will see how unique my art pieces are, like the stars in the heavens – like my shining angels in heaven.
As my love of working with wax grew, I found the organic process of the wax I shaped was also shaping me, and I slowly grew in my own light. The artform was beautiful and therapeutic, and my inspiration had begun.
My art has become my passion and cultivated a desire to create and share “living blessings” through art. Whether canvas or candle, each piece of art reflects an inspirational journey of layered wax, where color and transparencies melt and shape together in an ode to life, grief, light and love. Sharing light and love with others through art, is where my journey continues with “InspirebyTess”.
